Will my insurance cover residential treatment?

Many insurance plans cover inpatient and residential treatment for mental health conditions. Contact your insurance provider to understand your specific coverage details and potential out-of-pocket costs. For more information, please see our Admissions Page.

Is funding available?

Some of the residential beds at Tamarack are state funded through the state of Washington’s Children’s Long-Term Inpatient Program, (CLIP). CLIP funding is available to any Washington state resident who meets the psychiatric criteria established by the Washington state CLIP guidelines.

How can I apply for CLIP funding?

Finding CLIP placements starts at the county level. Visit www.clipadministration.org to find your local MCO to contact for CLIP applications.

General questions about the Tamarack Center

How can I prepare my child for inpatient treatment?

Talk openly with them about the program and what to expect. Address any concerns they might have and emphasize the benefits of treatment. You may also help them pack familiar comfort items and assure them of your ongoing love and support while they’re away from home.

For more information, please see our Admissions Page.

What is expected of me as a parent during my child’s inpatient treatment?

Family involvement is vital to your child’s treatment at Tamarack. Families are expected to participate in weekly family therapy sessions, monthly case conferences and spend time in therapeutic visits with their child both on and off-campus.

Will my child be forced to participate in activities during inpatient treatment?

Not necessarily. While participation is encouraged, we work to meet kids where they are at, and treatment is individualized. Residents will be encouraged to participate in activities of daily living, schooling, and in the therapeutic groups and activities during the day.
